This September 29-30 I will be taking part in the “Art Wander“- a self-guided tour of artist’s studios, in the towns of Waconia, Victoria, Mayer, Cologne, Chaska, & Watertown. What a fabulous idea! To see the artists, in their natural habitat, showing, & selling their work.
Here is a link to the artists that are participating. Wow! All that talent is right here in our own backyard (if you’re in Carver County, MN)! I have participated in art fairs with several of the artist, & they are truely amazing people, doing amazing work…. SO MARK YOUR CALENDARS – Sat & Sun, Sept 29-30 & go check out LOCAL art!!!
The event is FREE. So Wander.
P.S. I’m # 1 on the map, so stop by, say hi, see some of my new work & you could even hug a goat. 🙂
Here is a snipet from their website, artwander.com: “Be welcomed by 30 unique artists in 17 working studios while enjoying the amazing fall colors of the countryside. Featured is an eclectic mix of mediums: painting, pottery, jewelry, weaving, wood, sculpture, invention, culinary, chainsaw art, mosaic, illustration and metalworking.
In addition, many studios will have a local Arts Honor Society high school student present during the event. These students will be mentored by the host artist and will be displaying and possibly selling their work.
Dakota Tribes, and later, early European immigrants referred to the dense forest east of the vast plains as the “big woods”, which is now western Carver county. Although the area is no longer densely forested, it does provide a beautiful backdrop to the exhibition, demonstrations and sales of extraordinary art created by local artisans.
Mark your calendars for two full days of fun and inspiration!”
